About

Hi, I'm Jo Bayliss, a mixed media artist based in Berkshire, UK.

I work primarily in acrylics, reimagining everyday objects through vibrant colour, dynamic shapes and textural richness.

The story is so common, I wanted to be an artist, but I lacked the confidence in my ability and worried that I needed to do 'real' work. So, following an English degree from the University of Reading, I entered the world of marketing. What followed were a number of positions where my creativity was stifled. Where the day-to-day grind got in the way of creating. But art was calling to me. 

For the past 5 years I've worked primarily as a chalkboard artist but am now focusing my full attentions on scratching my creative drive to paint and I'm also developing my throwing skills on the potters wheel. 

When I'm not painting or creating I love hiding with a good book, cooking up a storm or travelling.
